Having a sense of community can affect many aspects of our lives. Feeling like we are able to contribute and belong has a number of benefits for mental health and wellbeing, particularly as we get older, but it can be missing from many areas of the country.
At Raylands Country Park, community is something our owners tell us is alive and well, and something we positively encourage.
Socialising together
Our Club House is perhaps the hub of all the social activity that happens at Raylands. Owners, and members of the wider community, can come together to enjoy a range of events, from music tribute acts and fundraising activities, to a good old Sunday roast. The large flatscreen TV is always popular when sporting events are on and this year owners enjoyed watching the football World Cup and Wimbledon with friends from the Park.
Then there’s also the Garden Lounge which has comfy sofas and another TV for owners to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.
Exploring together
Due to our fantastic location – we’re close to the village of Southwater, three miles from the historic market town of Horsham, and have great rails links, which can take you to beaches on the south coast, or the hustle and bustle of London – our owners often head off and explore together.
Being active together
Our onsite tennis court is a popular addition for our owners, as it allows them to enjoy a bit of competitive spirit with each other. We also have a large, well-kept field especially for dog walking and this is a place where owners often bump into each other for a chat while their dogs are having a run.
However, it’s not just onsite that our owners can get active while enjoying each other’s company. Being located in the beautiful Sussex countryside means we are lucky to have the South Downs National Park on our doorstep. With trails aplenty, hidden gems to discover, and stunning scenery, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a picnic.
Relaxing together
Feeling like you’re part of a community doesn’t just have to mean socialising in our club house, or enjoying a game of tennis. For some of our owners, it can just be that they will always get a ‘good morning’ from fellow owners, or a ‘hello’ from their neighbour when enjoying a cup of tea on their deck.
Our holiday home owners truly have the best of both worlds: they can enjoy plenty of privacy, knowing that there are always new friends to meet and things to do when they wish.
Whether you are looking for a UK base to be closer to family at certain times of the year, or you’d like a bolt-hole in the beautiful Sussex countryside to escape to, visit Raylands Country Park to experience our unique welcome and warm sense of community.
